Lipstick Cosmetics

Ladies, you know what it’s like when you go shopping for a new shade of lipstick. Here you are in the lipstick aisle looking up and down the rows of pinks, mauves, reds, and purple.

Gee, which color do I want?

Another minute goes by and you still haven’t made up your mind. Darn those makeup manufacturers - so many shades to choose from. There are lipstick colors to go with every skin tone, every possible outfit, and every day or evening situation you may find yourself in.

Okay, you’ve got to make a decision somehow. Here’s a suggestion. The next time you go lipstick shopping, pick out your lipstick colors to match each one of your moods.

Now, ladies, if you’re like me you’ll wake up in the morning and try to get dressed, but for some reason you just can’t grab a quick outfit and go. Nope. You’re realizing you’re not in the mood to wear that pink top, or those brown pants, or that particular striped suit. Hmmm. You stand there a few minutes picking out this, throwing that aside, until you finally select just the right outfit for how you’re feeling that day.

Well, let’s do the same with lipstick. I promise this will be lots of fun.

Pink Lipstick Colors – Light pink shades are innocent, soft and gentle. Wear pink on your lips when you’re feeling pretty and girly. Hot pink kicks things up a notch. Usually, hot pink is worn when you’re feeling your girl power and wanna have some fun.

Orange Lipstick Colors – Orange shades are a breath of sunshine. Wear orange on your lips when you’re relaxed, happy and feeling a little spunky. Orange is the color of sunshine, so it can really give you a lift on gloomy days.

Mascara Cosmetics

One of the essential makeup accessories that women all across the globe use to make their eyes shine is mascara. This beauty enhancer is very effective in giving you a more improved appearance. In fact, even if you do not put on eyeshadow or eyeliner, a dash of mascara is sufficient in making you look all madeup and beautiful. In spite of its popularity, however, a lot of people still do not know how look for and choose the right mascara.

Globalization has made it more difficult for women to select the mascara that is perfect for them because of the increasing number of brands sprouting from all over the world. Aside from the brand, you will also be confronted with different types of this product. For instance, it is not surprising to see mascara that can make your eyelashes longer and curlier, or one that can make your eyes look like Beyonce. Here are some of the things you should consider while buying mascara.

Waterproof Is The Way To Go

Before the invention of waterproof mascara, women find it very challenging to prevent smudging or melting, especially during warm weather. If you are a busy woman, juggling two jobs at the same time and trying to raise a family, you cannot check your makeup for smudging every once in a while. Thus, to avoid looking like a raccoon, it is always best to opt for one that is waterproof.

Texture Is Key

Every woman knows that mascara with a thick texture is not only hard to apply, it also tends to smudge and clump the eyelashes together. Thus, if you are buying mascara, make sure that the texture of the brand that you are buying is fluid and consistent. It is really quite easy to determine if the product has the right texture, just pull the wand out and see if there are clumps sticking on the bristles. If there is even the slightest gob on the stick, then do not buy the product because it is of substandard quality.

Look For One That Is Easy To Remove

Although there are many eye makeup removers in the market today, there are some types of mascara that are quite difficult to wash out. In fact, many women lose a dozen or so eyelashes just by removing their mascara. Imagine if you have to experience this everyday; aside from being painful, there is also a big chance that your eyelashes will become thin due to the frequent pulling and shedding whenever you wash off any makeup residue. Thus, you need to look for a washable type of mascara; something that soap and water can easily remove.

Beauty care starts with our diet. Diet does not mean just losing weight. Diet means the food you put in your daily eating habits.

1) A rule of thumb for eating habits are...don't eat more calories than you consume. Don't go one single day without doing something extra and physical for at least 30 minutes per day. This can be three ten minute walks. Or 30 minutes of vigorous aerobics, or 12 minutes of weight lifting and 18 minutes of walking.

2) Water, you need water. Try to add at least 4 more glasses of water to your daily diet. The rule of thumb for water is 8 glasses per day; and one extra for every ten pounds overweight you are.

3) Fats, you need to know about fats. There are different kinds of fats. Some fats are better for you than others. A rule of thumb on fats is, stay away from hydrogenated fats. These are fats that solidify. They are in store bought cakes, cookies, crackers, chips and even in bran muffins. Read the labels.

Choose fats that are polyunsaturated or fats such as olive oil. And, eat some fish to get some omega-3 fats. Carbohydrates - Are your immediate fuel source. An average is about 55 percent of your diet in carbohydrates. So, a rule of thumb is, figure your protein grams, get around 25% fat per day, and the rest would be in carbohydrates.

The heavier you are, the more protein you need the less carbohydrates you will need.

Fats - try not to exceed more than 25 percent fat in your daily diet. 30 is fine, too. That does not mean you can't have a junk food fast food hamburger... it just means that if you do eat that 55 percent fat burger that you are going to have to cut down on other fat filled foods for the rest of the day to balance it out.

4) Fiber - work up to getting 25 grams of Fiber per day

5) Protein - averages about 20 percent. Divide weight by 2.2 and multiply that by .8 to get the kilograms. For men it is averages as one gram per each kilogram of weight. So, a man would divide their weight in pounds 2.2 then multiply that by .10

6) Make exchanges gradually. Suppose you drink whole milk...work down to 2 percent. Maybe replacing two of your cups per day until you can completely change over. If you are on two percent milk, work down to 1 percent.

7) Add bran to your cereals for extra fiber. Do add it in your baking. You need to balance your diet with vegetables and fruits, too. Try adding different colors to your plate. Maybe an orange yam, and some green beans, to add color. The more variety of food colors, bring more variety of vitamins. Eat more raw foods.

Have you ever wondered why MAC cosmetics always seem to outdo the competition? What is it that makes MAC so much better than a drug store brand, or even more expensive lines that can only be found at high end make up counters? The secret, if you ask me, is to look at who founded the company and why. Back in the early to mid nineteen eighties, Frank Toskan was working as a make up artist and photographer. He found that none of the make up brands that were available held up well under the extreme lighting conditions, causing bad photographs. Since there was an opening in the market for a versatile and reliable cosmetic line, Toskan teamed up with Frank Angelo, who owned a chain of hair salons.

The result was MAC Cosmetics, which was established in 1985. The company's motto was all ages, all races, all sexes and if you take a look at the variety of celebrities who have endorsed the company over the years, it's easy to see that they strive to live up to their slogan. Everyone from RuPaul to K.D. Lang to Christina Aguilera has lent their names and faces to the MAC Campaign. Even Barbie and Elton John have gotten in on the fun, two characters that you wouldn't normally expect to endorse a cosmetics line.

MAC cosmetics really stand head and shoulders above any other similar product line, mainly because the line was created by industry insiders who knew what they were looking for and needed in good make up. The colors are beautiful and intense, and always look on your face the same way they look in the box. Too frequently you have to pile on the eyeshadow or mascara to get the color that you're looking for, but with MAC what you see is what you get.

Organic Cosmetics

If you were to listen to the dozens of horror stories that surround the use of ingredients such as aluminum, emulsifiers and preservatives in the regular lines of makeup and cosmetics, you would be tempted to let your face go naked, but there is an alternative to letting the world seeing the natural you. Although the effects of long-term exposure to the chemicals used in cosmetics are not yet known, there is speculation that they can cause cancer and premature memory loss. This has driven many people to choose the natural/organic route and has been the driving force behind the organic cosmetic industry, making it very easy to find and purchase organic makeup these days.

The problem is that even if something is labeled as ‘organic’ or ‘natural’, it may not be. Something that claims to have 100% organic essential oils could have non-organic agents in it such as emulsifiers, preservatives and foaming agents and only the essential oils are organic, usually because there are no organic equivalents to them. ‘Natural’ can be anything from all natural ingredients to one natural extract in amongst a collection of many chemicals and otherwise un-natural ingredients. It is used as a very loose term and shouldn’t be readily believed.

So how do you figure out if an organic or natural product is really what it says it is? There are several different ways to ensure that you are getting quality cosmetics, actually. If you are willing to order in from the United Kingdom, one true way of finding out if the cosmetics you are considering buying are in fact organic is to look for The Soil Association’s symbol on products.

http://inkd.com/pictures/read/3099?aspect=wide&height=385&width=575

The Soil Association is an organization in the UK that runs an organic certification scheme that companies pay to be a part of. In order for the companies to be allowed to use the symbol on their products, they have to comply with certain rules. The Soil Association does allow for a percentage of non-organic ingredients because some of the cosmetic formulas require them, however, it does specify that they have to be non-genetically modified and only used if an organic alternative is not available. They also have a restricted list of chemicals that they have deemed damaging to either human health or the environment.

We invest in expensive makeup, we read up on how to perfectly apply it, and we take the time every morning to put it on with perfect precision. We do this, so that we can cover up those fine lines and wrinkles without looking like we're wearing makeup. We do this so that we can achieve that perfect moist and dewy look without our skin looking oily. So that we can add that subtle, yet vibrant boost of color to our eyes, making them stand out, and so that we can achieve those perfect lips- plump and pouty without being too whorish looking.

And isn't it disappointing when you dedicate all that time to achieve the seemingly impossible, only to have your makeup slide off your face a few hours later?!!

Well ladies, keep reading, because below I've included some fabulous makeup tricks on how to get long lasting makeup -so that it stay on all day long or all evening out!

http://z.about.com/d/beauty/1/5/p/D/makeup3.jpg

Let's start with the very basics - moisturizer. Its important to properly hydrate your skin before applying makeup,as your makeup needs something to stick to (for those of you with oily skin, it's best to use an oil free moisturizer). You do not want to apply your makeup right after, as you need to provide your skin with enough time to properly absorb the moisture, otherwise your makeup will simply slide right off. Therefore, it's best to wait 10 - 20 minutes first.

The next step is to apply a makeup primer. Primers provide a clean 'base' to your makeup and absorb excess oils, providing your makeup with long lasting power. They also have built in moisturizing power, so unless your skin is particularly dry, you can actually use a primer in place of a moisturizer. Some of the popular ones include NARS makeup primer (which has the added benefit of built in SPF 20), Smashbox photo finish foundation primer, or Naked Minerals Neroli setting mist- which is actually sprayed on after makeup application, rather than before, and provides you with a radiant glow.
